ECUADOR - A Journey through Architecture, Culture and Land
In 2023 and 2024, Francesco Russo and I travelled across Ecuador to document over 40 contemporary architectural projects. While Francesco focused on photographing the buildings, I turned my lens to the surrounding landscapes and people, aiming to provide a layer of contextualisation to his architectural photography work.
After covering more than 7,000 km and photographing intensively for nearly five months, we’re now working to turn this body of work into a book. We’ve secured a publishing deal with the renowned Swiss publisher Park Books and have begun collaborating with the Paris-based graphic design studio Designers’ Unit on the book’s concept and layout. We’re currently in the process of securing the necessary funding to move into production, with the goal of publishing in spring 2026. Stay tuned for updates!
If you’re curious to see how our images complement one another, a selection of the work is available to view on Mass’ website.
